COLOSSUS CENTRE Vaughan, Ontario

The planning of this large scale “big box centre” involved not only the preparation of detailed site plans that incorporated the needs of a large number of diverse users but also required the study of how this centre could evolve into a more urban form over time. These studies formed the basis for the creation of urban design principles that determined the opportunities at various stages of the development. A clearly defined hierarchy of internal streets forms a network of spines that unifies the project, gives it shape and will also facilitate the form of it’s future intensification.
