CANADIAN TIRE North York, Ontario

This flagship store, part of a 16-hectare redevelopment will replace an existing store on the rapidly intensifying Sheppard Avenue in North York. Designed in precast concrete accented by horizontal brightly coloured canopies and illuminated towers utilizing backlit kalwall panels to define entrances and provide locations for corporate identity, this building responds to the urban imperatives of the new Official Plan for the area.

The building will be located to front directly on the adjacent streets providing an urban street presence. In addition to Canadian Tire it will include additional retail space and an underground parking area, incorporated into the design to take advantage of the change in grade across at the site.
